A death investigation in Regina is now being treated by police as the city’s ninth homicide of 2025.

At 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening, police were dispatched to a call for service on the 1500 block of Cameron Street. Upon arrival, officers found a dead 27-year-old man in an alley.

Officers observed that he had been shot. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old man was arrested and charged.

Sky Starr-Goforth is facing a first-degree murder charge and will make his first appearance on Tuesday, October 14.

Police say the victim’s name will not be released at this time.
