SEIU-West is sounding the alarm over the Administrative information Management System (AIMS) which the union says is wreaking havoc on pay and schedules.
SEIU-West is speaking out for members in the former Cypress Health Region (CHR) where AIMS issues are at a crisis level since the system’s rollout in late August. The new system manages human resources, payroll and scheduling which conceptually is a good idea but according to the unit AIMS “has been chronically late, wildly over budget, and plagued with errors and problems.”
In a news release, in reference to the former Cypress Health Region, SEIU-West President, Lisa Zunti says, “They cannot afford to wait for AIMS to be fixed. They are having serious problems making ends meet right now.”
The union says members are unable to pay their bills and unable to make ends meet and patients in the health care system are being short changed because AIMS isn’t scheduling enough staff.
