Average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon have fallen 3.3 c/L in the past week, averaging 128.08 c/L yesterday, according to GasBuddy.com. Gasbuddy conducts a daily survey of 81 gas outlets in Saskatoon. This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.6 c/L in the last week to 131.58 c/L.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy says gas prices declined across nearly every province last week, with British Columbia the lone exception because of refinery issues on the U.S. West Coast. He says even those increases are expected to reverse in the coming week and with the broader trend of falling oil prices and easing demand, Canadians should continue to see gradual relief at the pump as we move deeper into fall.
Including the change in gas prices in Saskatoon during the past week, prices yesterday were 18.0 c/L lower than the same day one year ago and are 8.9 c/L lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 10.4 c/L during the last month and stands 20.4 c/L lower than this day one year ago.
